Oh good, glad Peter is being productive. And that Albertine is forever the insightful muse.

Hey, I'm going to be in your area for a week at the end of March/start of April. This Oregonian will be visiting his friend in the Bronx. I wonder if you would be open to getting together for coffee. No worries if not.

Dan, thank you for reading and enjoying my work, and for telling me so. That makes my day. I’m going to decline to get together, though, and I’ll tell you why. We’d talk about my work. I don’t like to talk about my work. It’s partly that I want the work to stand on its own, but also that I don’t do it justice when I talk about it. I used to do readings and panel discussions, but I stepped away from all of that long ago. I prefer to remain in a bubble and toss bits of work out into the world now and then. Enjoy your visit to the Bronx, and thank you again.

Eric,

That's really understandable; I get what you're saying. I have unpublished fiction that I don't show my fellow writers till it feels viable and a little bit sturdy. Your project is marvelously never-ending. I can imagine it could impact it to yak about it. I wish we could visit and I would promise to stay away from any talk about your actual work. But that is probably not a fit for you. In any case, thanks for your very generous reply and explanation. As for many of your other readers I am sure, you feel like a dear friend to me.

Yes, he is. It's called, Well, What Now? It's largely a dialogue between Peter and Albertine, a series of casual exchanges in which they explore the title's question.

Hey Eric, I just enjoyed finishing Albertine's Overcoat. I've just read seven of the eleven books listed in the back of AO, a couple of them more than once. I'm not done with Peter's in-print output, but I have to ask: is Peter at work on new material. (Hope so!)
